Visit

Time

Our weekly church meetings are Sunday mornings at 9:30 am, and evenings at 6:00 pm. We also meet for special services on some days of the year. In extreme weather, please check the church website to see if the church meeting has been cancelled.

Place

Meeting place: Building of Master Arts Theater, 75 77th St SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49548. See directions here. Ample parking is available.

What to Expect

Visitors are very welcome!  At the door, you will be greeted and given the weekly church bulletin. The church bulletin contains the service’s order of worship. Please feel free to borrow a Bible and a psalter (hymn book containing psalms) from the entrance hall. Seating is unassigned and visitors are welcome to sit anywhere (the seat numbers are used for the theater performances only.)  After the service, coffee and tea are available downstairs and everyone is invited to enjoy a time of fellowship. On Sunday mornings, Sunday school follows after about half an hour of fellowship. Children meet in various age groups downstairs. The adult Sunday school group meets in the big area upstairs for a book discussion.

On days when the Lord’s Supper is celebrated, visitors who want to participate in the Lord’s Supper are requested to please meet with one of the elders or deacons prior to the Lord’s Supper church service. This is simply because we want to ensure that those who participate in the Lord’s Supper are believers who give a credible profession of faith and are in good standing with a local church, in accordance with the biblical requirement for the holiness of the Lord’s supper as taught in 1 Cor. 11:17–34.

Bible

The main Bible translation that the church uses is the 1611 King James Version (KJV), although other translations like the English Standard Version (ESV) or the New King James (NKJ) are referred to as necessary. The King James Version is a faithful and largely literal translation and is still favored by many conservative churches.

Singing

We use the 1912 Psalter published by a number of Reformed churches in West Michigan. To accompany the singing, simple musical instruments like a piano and harmonica are used.

Previous Sermons

Listen to previous sermons on SermonAudio. The church also has a collection of recorded sermons by Pastor Arie Nobel which are not available online but can be borrowed on CD.
